#iwishpeopleknewthatdiabetes challenges people both physically and mentally.

For me, the physical part is easy. I am fortunate to have the tools I need to be successful at that part. What I have lacked in the past is the ability to use those tools. What I mean by this is I struggled in the past to accept my diagnosis. I needed to process what having a life long illness meant.

At 15, I was unable to do this on my own. When faced with a diagnosis of any kind, mental health is just as important as the physical health. We need the tools to be able to work through this part of the diagnosis. If you find that you can relate to this please talk to your doctor.
